Carolina Diabetic
Supply, Inc. serves as the official sponsor of the J. Anthony Brown
Diabetes Foundation, a not-for-profit organization based in
Columbia, South Carolina. The Foundation is the brainchild of J.
Anthony Brown, comedian, actor, and co-host of the Tom Joyner
Morning Show, and was formed to promote diabetes awareness, early
diagnosis, and treatment. As a result of this collaborative effort
with the Foundation, Mr. Brown, a diabetic and Columbia native, has
become our spokesperson.
During the past year,
CDSI has co-sponsored the Foundation's 1st Annual Sugarless Ball,
held in November 2004, and the 1st Annual J. Anthony Brown Diabetes
Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament, held in April 2005, at the Ft.
Jackson Golf Course. The Sugarless Ball, which coincided with
National Diabetes Month, raised money for children with diabetes to
attend Camp Adam Fisher, where children from ages 6-16 years learn
how to manage their condition and enjoy activities such as sailing,
canoeing, horseback riding, kayaking, among others.
We certainly believe
in playing a vital role in the community. Sponsoring the Foundation
is just one way that we are involved in the lives of our patients
and our community.
